Our primary role as counselors is to promote the academic success of all students and to encourage them to reach their highest potential. North Monterey County High School Counselors' responsibilities include class scheduling, 6-year plans, social and emotional support, crisis intervention, student/teacher/parent communication, and personal counseling.
Our counselors find their involvement in disciplinary actions which frequently leads to counseling students in both personal and academic issues. The utilization of counselors' educational training and counseling skills adds a greater exploratory and resolution opportunity for the student. Students are assigned to counselors based on grade level. To make an appointment with a counselor, students can go to the Counseling Center before school, during brunch, lunch, or after school and sign up on their counselor's sheet or call (831) 633-5221 ext. 3380
